Exploring how small forces accumulate and spiral out of control.

For my BFA capstone, I chose to combine my love of ecology with storytelling by examining three invasive species in the United States. Starlings, pythons, and domestic cats. Their stories were compelling on their own, but they also worked as analogies for how human systems operate.

I compiled everything into a zine and created an exhibition that pairs ecological stories with conceptual essays, illustrated with watercolor portraits of the species. Each animal represents a different pattern: diffusion of responsibility, unsustainable growth, and willful distortion of reality. The storytelling draws connections between what happens in nature and what happens in us.

If problems are made up of millions of tiny moving parts, then so are solutions.
